What is the YouTube API?

YouTube is the most famous videos-platform on the web. It hosts billions of hours of videos and music to watch and listen to. The associated API lets a developer retrieve information on a video as well as performing action for an authenticated user, like subscribing him to a channel or liking a video.

How to use the YouTube API?

// npm install @bearer/node
.auth('AUTH_ID') // Check the code example below on how to generate access tokens
.get('subscriptions', { query: { part: "id", mine: true}})
.then(({ data }) => console.log(data))
.catch(e => console.log(e))
<script src=""></script>
<button class="btn btn-primary" onclick="myConnectButton()">
Connect to YouTube
const bearerClient = bearer('YOUR_BEARER_PUB_KEY')
function myConnectButton() {
.then(({ authId }) => {
// Use this authId like bearer.auth(authId).get(..
console.log('AUTH_ID for this user', authId)
